Easily the most awaited album in 2007, and by many people's comments one of the most disappointing.
This is very simple, a legendary supergroup announces a comeback and what people expect is a classic, but obviously we can't expect another 36 Chambers album.
What we get this time, almost 6 years from Wu-Tang Clan's last album, is a satisfying 16 songs release that contains some amazing tracks as well as terrible ones.
As you should know the members of the Wu-Tang Clan are rappers GZA, Method Man, Inspectah Deck, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Masta Killa, U-God and the rapper-producer RZA.
Let's start by what i think are the highlights of the album, which are the songs "Life Changes" and "The Heart Gently Weeps".
"Life Changes" is a beautiful song with 7 members present, each comes up with a short verse on the deceased member Ol' Dirty Bastard, a very sentimental track with a beautiful piano beat by RZA, GZA's verse on the track is brilliant.
"The Heart Gently Weeps" is another amazing song, richened by guitar play and a unique feeling to it, Ghostface shines on the track.
Other very good tracks include the raw "Wolves" and the slow "Gun Will Go", Method Man is very present on the album, while i'm a little disappointed by Masta Killa's delivery.
The production is very good, unfortunately on tracks like "Unpredictable" and "Weak Spot" the beats sound dull and extremely simple, RZA disappoints on the album.
Overall the album has a lot of interesting material, the bad parts are easily covered by the rich variety of verses by different members all trough the record.
The only song that i can't stand listening to is "Get Them Out Ya Way Pa".
Definitely worth downloading, forget Wu's past work and focus on how the album sounds in today's rap scene.
Flow & Lyrics: 8 /10
Beats: 7 /10
Download and enjoy.
