I could never imagine how much the production matters in an album, how a bad beat can ruin a lyrically good song, this remix of DJ Muggs and GZA's album Grandmasters proves the importance of beats in a good record.
First of all you should know that besides the beats nothing new can be found on the album, can it be considered better than the original Grandmasters? well, certainly not.
On Grandmasters there are some tracks that even if lyrically excellent were accompanied by weak beats, many of those songs are fixed in the remix album.
"Illusory Protection" had probably the worst beat on the original album, the remix of the song has a beautiful beat on it and now it's one of the songs i listen to the most.
If you weren't fully satisfied by Grandmasters you should definitely download this remix album.
