Underground9 Overview:
This is the third release from underground duo Jedi Mind Tricks, a solid release but a disappointment compared to it's predecessor.
Like usual Vinnie Paz is not unique in lyrics, his verses are often dull and senseless, but on certain tracks he manages to impress the listeners with smart lines and brilliant wordplay.
Let me start by mentioning the popular track "Animal Rap", both Kool G. Rap and Vinnie Paz come up with aggressive verses and Stoupe manages to create a very fast paced beat that gives a very nice theme to the song.
Other songs that impressed me are "The Rage Of Angels" and "Rise Of The Machines", Stoupe's beats are mostly guitar and strings samples, while in "Blood In Blood Out" you find a short pitch chorus, in contrast with Vinnie's battling rhymes but still a very entertaining track.
The production work is very good, Stoupe transforms "Animal Rap" in a more harmonious variety of sounds on the hidden remix track, but i wasn't fully satisfied by his approach, i consider this his worst attempt since "The PsychoSocial" album.
A very solid release, and worth a download.
